TUNZE Nano Wavebox / TUNZE Wavebox

In 2004, TUNZE® introduced the "Wavebox" as a world novelty - a patented wave generator for aquariums of 200 to 1,200 litres (52 to 317 USgal.).
Today, TUNZE® Nano Wavebox / Wavebox are famous wave generators for aquariums of 150 to 1,500 litres (39 to 396 USgal.), which produce an oscillating current corresponding precisely to the wave formation and water movement in reef top zones. Nano Wavebox / Wavebox operate on the oscillating principle and are controlled by means of Wavecontroller 6091 or Multicontroller 7096 with their own tank resonance. A very low power consumption only is required to generate ideal water movement. The water is in movement in all areas of the aquarium, even the smallest section behind a decoration benefits from the wash.
Example: On account of the wash of the waves, the maximum water level may rise 3 cm (1.18 in.) and more in aquariums with a length of 1.5 metres (59 in.).

SUPPLEMENTS existing circulation pumps.
FOR LARGER TANKS, an additional Wavebox Extension 6215.500 (without Wave Controller) can be used to extend the system.
ENERGY CONSUMPTION in a cycle of an average of 10 W in case of Nano Wavebox and 26 W for the Wavebox.
DELIVERY CONDITION: Ready for fitting, complete with power supply unit and magnet holder, Wavecontroller and photo-electric cell.

FAQs about the Nano Wavebox / Wavebox

Can the Nano Wavebox / Wavebox be fitted in an aquarium with outlet ?
Given a single wave, the water varies only very little in the centre of the aquarium (relative to the longitudinal axis). If and when possible, this zone should be used for the outlet and inlet. The greater the distance from this zone, the higher the difference in water level. TUNZE® outlets can withstand such variations without any problems, but they may cause noise.

Can the Nano Wavebox / Wavebox be integrated in the decoration completely ?
For perfect wave formation and circular current, we recommend positioning the water outlet in direction of the longitudinal axis of the aquarium. The decoration, such as corals, should be located at least 50 cm (19 in.) away from the water outlet.

Can the Nano Wavebox / Wavebox produce several waves ?
Given an aquarium of two metres (78 in.) in length, a double wave can be produced. In order to get an indication for this frequency, the resonance frequency of the single wave has to be divided by two. However, this can be achieved by means of the Wavebox only.

Is the Nano Wavebox / Wavebox compatible with other Turbelle® pumps ?
Nano Wavebox / Wavebox can also be integrated in an aquarium with Turbelle® pumps. The circular current of the Turbelle® and the washing of the waves produced by the Nano Wavebox / Wavebox superimpose each other and result in a strongly pulsating circular current for reef top biotopes, for example.

Two Waveboxes are required for a tank with a content of 2,000 litres (528 US gal.). Do the Waveboxes have to be located next to each other in case of space problems ?
Two Waveboxes can be placed in opposite corners of the tank; in this case they will operate alternatingly:
When one Wavebox is operating, the other one is stopped, et cetera.
Wavecontroller 6091 can control everything.
