Question asked by Mr Nagel / Germany

I want to set-up a simple marine biotope with anemones and clownfish. I have my eye on the Juwel aquarium Rio 240. Can I use it to do what I want ? Which filtration technology do I have to fit ?

Nowadays, very nice marine biotopes can be produced with a standard aquarium tank. The advantage of this tank with furniture is of course its price, but also the fantastic workmanship.
With respect to the “technology” to be applied, we recommend a cabinet solution consisting of Kit 16 and outlet 1074. This filter kit is rather small in size: L 30 x W 32 x H 43 cm (L 11.8 x W 12.5 x H 16.9 in.), and thus fits into any aquarium furniture. The water is treated in several stages: intensive skimming, mechanical filtration, bio-reactor and water level regulation. In addition to the cabinet filter, you only need an outlet and the inlet system, i.e. outlet 1074 without borehole (directly on the tank), hose set 1075/2, inlet system 1073. The manual enclosed contains the instructions on how to use the filter during the running-in phase as well as how to carry out the weekly maintenance, which takes only a few minutes. In addition, we recommend the use of lithops (aka flowering stones) of 10 to 30 kg (22 to 66 lbs.) in the tank, and a good illumination of your anemones (three to four fluorescent tubes as needed for the length of the tank).
