TUNZE skimmer Universal 230/3 or Comline 3130/2 ?

TUNZE skimmer Universal 230/3 or Comline 3130/2 ?

Enquiry from Mr. Meier / Germany

I would like to know the difference between these two types of skimmer.
Is an ozone connection possible on the Comline 3130? Since the output of the two types is equal, I am not sure which type I should use for my 500 l basin.
I would really appreciate your answer.

Answer

In respect of output and efficiency the two skimmers 3130/2 and 230/3 are similar. The air outputs are identical as well as the integrated high-pressure pump rated for 1200 l/hr and 3 m delivery head. There are differences in the construction and immersion depth. In general Comline models are mounted direct and at an inconspicuous place in the basin.. The best place to remove proteins quickly and to achieve a high efficiency. Universal models for horizontal mounting are likewise fitted direct in the aquarium. By virtue of their short immersion depth this type is given preference particularly by aquarists for cabinet filter stands.

In your case choose a model from practical and aesthetic aspects.
For a 500 Litre aquarium we suggest model 230/3 or 3130/2.
However, in order to give you a more precise answer we should know more about the animal community.
All our skimmers are provided with special connections for ozone. A small connection size 4 x 6 mm for an ozone hose and a second for air compensation. The ozone input should take place through a small air pump rated 50 l/hr, e.g. 3 mg/hr.
