Stream pumps in a 2-metre (78.7-in.) tank

Stream pumps in a 2-metre (78.7-in.) tank

Question asked by Mr Nuyken / Germany

I have a marine aquarium which has the following dimensions:
Width: 200 cm (78.7 in.)
Height: 60 cm (23.6 in.)

Angular front pane, thus
Top depth: 70 cm (27.5 in.)
Bottom depth: 100 cm (39.3 in.)

Please be as kind as to recommend pumps for an ideal flow in the tank with the dimensions given as well as the position of these pumps in the aquarium.

For such a tank we recommend two Turbelle stream 6100 with Multicontroller 7094 – a TS 24 Kit, if and when required. Place the two pumps in one corner of the aquarium each permitting the current to go alongside the front pane. At any one time, only one pump is in operation (interval control) so that a circulation can form in the tank which changes its direction completely after six hours. Another possibility is to hide the pumps in Stream Rock 6000.25 discreetly and to place them on the decoration.

If the flow is not sufficient, you can always buy another two Turbelle stream 6100 at a later point in time. The pumps are then placed in each corner of the aquarium. In this case they produce a flow alongside the tank; only the two diagonally fitted pumps are in operation at any one time. After six hours the two other diagonally fitted pumps start operating in opposite direction. In this way the same circulation is produced, which is more intensive, however. Please also use pulse operation – another function of the multi-controller.
